Assim como vários profissionais, a secretária vem acompanhando o desenvolvimento econômico do mercado de trabalho ao longo dos séculos, sobrevivendo a diferentes épocas. Com o avanço dos recursos tecnológicos, a forma de trabalhar mudou, permitindo otimização nos processos, comunicação mais eficiente e adequação às novas tendências. As organizações passaram a buscar intensamente a qualidade total, o que as levou a realizar um processo de melhoria contínua. A partir daí, o papel da secretária foi redefinido, concedendo-lhe mais autonomia na execução de suas tarefas e participação mais efetiva. Diante desse contexto é possível associar a estação de trabalho da secretária a uma prestadora de serviços e como todo prestador de serviço, ela deverá oferecer serviços com excelência em qualidade. O presente artigo demonstrará que o Programa 5S é uma ferramenta facilitadora ao processo de prestação de serviço com qualidade no dia a dia da secretária.
